I read a quote last year called the forever friend, it was a website where anyone can post their favorite quotes or make up their own. This quote was made up by an anonymous person. Here is the quote I found thank you to boardofwisdom.com, "Sometimes in life, you find a special friend. Someone who changes your life just by being part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop. Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is forever friendship. When you're down and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full. Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, the sad times and the confused times. If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on. Your forever friend hold your hand and tells you that everything is going to be okay. And if you find such a friend, you feel happy and complete because you need not worry. You have a forever friend, and forever has no end." I used some of this in our vows when we got married in February. I love this quote to death the truth is that it is real. Everyone has that forever friend, with me I believe my husband is my forever friend. We both have been through a lot but most of it we got through it together. I know that my husband has shown me that there is a good in this world if you stop worrying about it and get out there and find it. But he doesn't let me go through it alone, he will be there to go through it all together. He is my forever friend, the thing that sucks with this deployment is some of this he can not do. He can't hold my hand and cheer me on to go through the situation together. Today is one of those days that I feel like my day is a little bit dark and empty, but I know that he would help me if he could. Today is one of those days if you do the wrong thing or just act straight up dumb I am going to explode! And when someone ask me if I am okay, I just want to yell and say I just want to get out of here and be with my real family. The thing here is your suppose to meet friends in college and they are suppose to be that friend for the rest of your life, well sometimes it is wrong. I have only one true friend that I have met here, but she left so she can move on with her life. I miss her a lot because she understood me and knew when to make me laugh or when to just chill with me. Everyone else here is friendly but most of them are fakes. My dad always told me this saying... "Friends come and go, but your family is always there." And I know that is right! I would pick my family over these fake people, who think they are your friends, but once you leave they will forget about you, like you forgot about them. I think there is always going to be two forever friends in my life, or any other military wife, fiance, or girlfriend. And that is yourself. Your soldier can't be here always to help you go through the dark because he is part of the reason why you feel like your world is empty because you can't see him, or call/text him whenever you can. You have to rely on yourself to get through all the dark when you have no one else to lean on. And sometimes we take that for granted! We rely on to many people and we don't rely on yourself. I love my husband to death and I am so happy that God gave me him to help me when he can. I know that with me and him forever will have no end. Today is a dark day, but as I write this it seems like I am getting closer to that light to get me through the rest of the day. I think everyone realizes that the lesson in me writing this was that we need to rely on ourselves and not always on our soldiers because in the end whether we realize it or not they actually rely on us. They rely on us to make sure we take care of ourselves, our bills, house, their family, and for most women their children. We don't realize how much they need us when they are gone, so I am going to keep fighting to stay strong for my husband and hope that every military dependent is doing the same while they go through deployment, AIT, or basic. Our other heart should be our strength to get through the darkness, the rainy days, or even through the empty days.

The Wait....
Everyday is a new day, some are good days, others are those bad days. Well today is a alright day. See living in a state where is beautiful one day, and then the next day its pouring and snowing. Today is a rainy day and cold, we all know that those days are a type of "cuddling" weather. But I know if I tell my husband it is cuddling weather he might not feel the same because its extremely hot and we all know that we don't want to cuddle in the hot weather. I think one of the biggest things that is hard in the deployments is the waits.. The wait for them to call or some type of communication that they made it there okay, the wait for him to come home, or even the wait every night for him to just message you and talk to you. I stay up every night waiting for something, the thing of being a college student than being on base is that no one fully understands what you go through. Yes, people in college go through long distance relationships but they can talk all day so they think that you are going through the same. Well here is a reality check, we army dependents don't get to talk to them 24-7. And sometimes they are fighting for our freedom while the worse thing your boyfriend can do is nothing as serious. No one knows what an army dependent goes through unless you have been through it. Being in college not a lot of people have gone through it. I was an army girlfriend when he left for basic in August, and I can still remember that day he left. He thought that he was suppose to leave one day but it was actually a day early. It wasn't expected and the day he ran into our room told me that he is already late, so he packed his bag and let his brother take him so he wont have to see me upset. There were two smart things that I was prepared for before he left. One thing I did was to make sure he would remember our fun times. So what I did was I bought a little hand notebook from the Dollar General. I wrote dates of when we first met, date, kiss, the funny things we did that you would never forget, the day he told you he was joining the military, and everything that needs to be remember so when he misses you he can read that and see what fun times you guys had. I also wrote a little note on the first two pages telling him what it was all about and I made sure that he knew my address so when he gets a chance to write the first letter he will have it.. The way I knew I did that right was when a month later I was the first one to get a letter. Boy did I shine! The second smartest thing I made him do was to take my phone while he was on his way to the bus. I told him instructions on what I wanted him to do, what the instructions was that he had to make a video of himself talking about what he would tell me if I am sad, mad, or when something great is going on. I wanted him to have say whatever he wants anything that would be helpful for me when I need him. That was one of the smartest things I ever did, I watched it about three times a week or even more depending on that day or week. I haven't been part of the military for very long, it hasn't even been a year that he has been in it. I haven't made a lot of military friends. I can only say that I have a couple military friends. I don't know alot about them, but when we need each other they are there. I hope when I finally get to live with my husband once again that I would make some friends that go through the same thing. I think sometimes its nice to have people who you can relate to, someone who understands as much as your other true friends also. You love your friends and care for them a lot and sometimes you just wish that they fully understand on why you miss things or what do you just randomly click into these weird moods to where you just want to be alone or quiet. They try to understand and that is all you can ask for. I am thankful for what god has given me as friends, because if they didn't then I would be more crazy than I am now, and wouldn't have someone to talk to all the time.

First Deployment... First Meaningful Promise...
It is my first week of my first deployment. My husband left Saturday to Kuwait. He won't be here for a while. I am not scared that he is going to die in combat, because I have the attitude that I know he won't leave me. He is a strong guy mentally and physically. The thing that I am scared for is that I am not ready for him to leave. I don't know all the answers to his security questions, I don't know what bills need to be pay at a certain time. I can't even get an apartment yet until he gets the power of attorney, where he sometimes for gets important things! For this being my first deployment I think I am handling it quite well.. I miss him a lot but I know he will be in my arms sooner or later. What my problem is, is I have to stay busy so I don't get into this depression and be wanting and wishing he was here. The busier I stay the better my mood is. I have gotten a 2 minute Skype call from him and the whole Facebook instant messaging stuff, but it isn't the same as that goodnight phone call or that fast call or text when something is wrong. My husband is my best friend, and probably my only best friend. He is the first person that comes to mind when I have a problem he is the one I call or text. Well now with him gone I write him emails everyday and I never turn off my Skype. When I close my computer I have Skype on my phone so if does call I can get it on my phone also. Every night I pray for him, my whole family on both sides, and for all soldiers. And everyday I hope that I will get this random message on Facebook from him just saying goodnight or I love you. Everyday if I get that one message I know everything will be alright, and he is alright at the moment or day. Have you ever heard the saying that mostly military wives, fiances, and girlfriends say? Well if you don't here is the saying and I go by this everyday, "One day down, One day closer, and One day stronger!" For any wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, or fiance, that has there other heart in the military we all know that everyday they are gone is another day that you are stronger, and that your relationship with them is a whole lot stronger! We all don't like that they are gone but we all knew it came with them if they are in the military. Nicholas Sparks wrote in the book the Lucky, "She had been proud of his decision to serve his country, her heart bursting with love and admiration the first time she saw him outfitted in his blue dress." I remember the day that my husband told me he was going to join the military. We were in his fathers house it was in December, and he told me that he wants to join the military and wondered what I thought. I asked if this what makes him happy? And my soldier said yes its what I want to do and I think it will make me very happy. I am not the type of person that will be selfish and keep him away from something that will make him happy. The first thing I said to him was, "I will be waiting here for you, and the only way to get rid of me is you have to do it yourself." I kept that promise.. I have two lessons in this.... When things are rough know that your closer than you were yesterday and staying positive is the best way to get through it all.. The second lesson is when you promise someone something you will want to keep it because everyone and the person you promised will think you will break that promise. Most promises are broken and never kept, when you do keep that promise it shows you your true side and also gives you the mind that you can do whatever comes in your way if you keep the promise and get through a deployment, basic training, AIT, anything!
"As I look back over fifty years of ministry, I recall innumerable tests, trials and times of crushing pain. But through it all, the Lord has proven faithful, loving, and totally true to all his promises."
